About Us
St John’s church is a Christian community with about 270 adult members, plus children and young people. Church Members have committed themselves to the Christian faithand to the responsibilities of building up the church to be what God calls it to be and where God needs it to be.
As a United Reformed Church the authority for what we do rests with the Church Meeting, at which members have an opportunity to pray together, talk together, express their views and take part in decisions which influence the whole of church life.
There are many ways in which we express our faith, which centre upon regular weekly acts of worship for adults, young people and children.
There is a very full calendar of community-based work and special events which go on in our halls and in the neighbourhood during the week, reflecting our commitment to outreach and Christian service. It seeks to cater for all ages and interests in providing opportunities for people to find friendship and fellowship within a Christian environment.
